On April 9, 2000 Widespread Panic performed a one-off show at the Civic Center, Albany, GA. The band had opened its spring tour on April 1 with three nights at the Classic Center in Athens. Panic was in fine form during this spring dates and certainly at the Civic Center show. This performance is now be released as the latest installment of the Widespread Panic Archive multi-track series.
Albany 2000 was mixed and mastered by the group’s longtime collaborator John Keane. As the release announcement notes, “From the start, you can hear that the band is still firing on all cylinders and preparing to tackle one of the most memorable years of touring in its history.” One can hear this via the versions of “Stop-Go” and “Fishwater” that are currently streaming on Panic’s Bandcamp page.
Albany 2000 will be available digitally and on streaming platforms on Friday, August 28. In addition, 3-CD sets, along with a commemorative show poster, are now available via the Widespread Merch store.
