Herbie Hancock and his band are going out on tour. The jazz-funk fusion pioneer and member of Miles Davis’ Second Great Quintet will set off on a North American run beginning on July 26 at Massey Hall in Toronto. On the road, the ensemble will hit venues on both coasts, with stops scheduled for interior locations as well. 

After kicking off their tour with a Canadian appearance, Hancock and his band will take their talents and vast musical expertise to Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore. Headed up the coast, they are forecasted to perform on July 29 at Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Next on the docket is an evening at Newark, N.J.’s Prudential Hall. 

The band’s final night on the East Coast will find them on the Merrill Auditorium stage in Portland, Maine, before the ensuing arrival of Midwest concerts beginning Aug. 5 in Indianapolis. They’ll proceed with a night in  Kansas City, Mo., on Aug. 6, ahead of their three-night Colorado stand, which includes one night in Steamboat Springs, Colo., and two concerts in Denver.
