Goose Kick-Off Daze Between NOLA (A Gallery)
Last night, Connecticut jamband Goose performed their first of two headlining sets at Daze Between New Orleans, located at the Crescent City’s Faubourg Brewery. Their performance followed a full day, including a lovely panel titled Help on the Way: The Legacy of the Grateful Dead and Their Grassroots Charitable Mission, moderated by Relix editor-in-chief Dean Budnick, with the Executive Director of the Rex Foundation (and former Grateful Dead manager) Cameron Sears and Soulive’s Eric Krasno, along with musical performances by New Orleans’ own Tank and the Bangas, New York-bred soul-pop group sibling duo Lawrence, another New York City export Melt, along with adored local acts J & The Causeways and The Quickening.
Daze Between New Orleans livestreamed the incredible musical performances, with proceeds from the event going to grants for various New Orleans-based causes through the festival’s charitable partner, the Rex Foundation. Today’s gathering also be livestreamed and along with proceeds from the stream (as well as ticket sales) Daze Between New Orleans will raise funds for Rex through on-site initiatives, including a charity auction. The virtual auction is live now and will run until the end of the event on Wednesday, May 3. The auction items include instruments signed by the artists on the lineup, tickets to 2023 festivals like Suwannee Hulaween, High Sierra Music Festival, and North Beach Music Festival, a year-long subscription to Relix Magazine, various merch bundles, and more.
