FANS to Broadcast PhilRAD’s December 2014 Debut at The Capitol Theatre

On Dec. 29, the Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh joined drummer Joe Russo, guitarists Scott Metzger and Tom Hamilton and keyboardist Marco Benevento to perform as PhilRAD, a play on Joe Russo’s Almost Dead’s acronym. The band played a three-night run at the historic Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y., which culminated in a New Year’s Eve performance. FANS has announced that they will rebroadcast the Dec. 29 show on Feb. 17, powered by ROBE Backstage.
As JRAD setlists frequently do, the show featured a smorgasbord of classic Grateful Dead tunes: “Truckin’,” “Jack Straw,” “Eyes of the World,” “Box of Rain,” “Dark Star,” “Terrapin Station” and many more. In addition, the band also broke out some less common choices, such as “King Solomon’s Marbles” and “Mason’s Children.” The show closed with a grooving rendition of “Shakedown Street.”
