Last night, 15-time CMA Award-winner Chris Stapleton was named Male Vocalist of the Year for the sixth time during the 56th Annual CMA Awards. With the win, the country artist set the record for most wins in the category by one artist ever.

During the evening, Stapleton performed live, showcasing his voice on “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive” with Patty Loveless and Darrell Scott. Stapleton and Loveless’ collaboration last night was not their first: Last month, the two united for a song during Stapleton’sKentucky Rising benefit concert last month, which raised $2.8 million to support flood relief in Eastern Kentucky.

The newest accolade follows Stapleton’s LP Starting Over‘s awards: three at the 67th Grammys: Best Country Album for Starting Over, Best Country Solo Performance “You Should Probably Leave,” and Best Country Song with “Cold.” The award comes in the midst of Stapleton’s ongoing tour, which has dates ranging from Nov. 12 through the summer of 2023.
