Boston Pops Tap Melvin Seals, Jacklyn LaBranch, Oteil Burbridge and More for Symphonic Celebration of Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead

Over two nights, Tuesday, June 3, and Wednesday, June 4, the Boston Pops will celebrate 60 years of Jerry Garcia and the legacy of the Grateful Dead at Boston’s Symphony Hall. The occasion will be led by conductor Keith Lockhart, with special guest assistance from members of the Jerry Garcia Band and more. 

The guest roster includes Garcia’s beloved collaborators, Hammond B3 organist and keyboard master Melvin Seals, and songstress Jacklyn LaBranch, who performed the referred guitarist in his self-titled Jerry Garcia Band. The list also features Dead and Company bassist Oteil Burbridge, who delivered his interpretations from the Garcia/Hunter archive via Lovely View of Heaven, his 2023 Floki Studio set.

Beyond the aforementioned talent, drummer and jam-scene frequenter known for performing with Phish’s Mike Gordon, John Kimock is also featured on the bill, and Joe Russo’s Almost Dead member, Tom Hamilton.
