Michael Shannon and Jason Narducy will return to the road in 2027 for the next installment of their ongoing R.E.M. tribute run. This time, the pair will celebrate the 40th anniversary of R.E.M.’s Document. Kicking off Wednesday, February 3 at Denver, CO’s Summit Music Hall, the extensive Document tour will take Shannon and Narducy to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Chicago, Brooklyn, Washington, DC and Philadelphia, as well as R.E.M.’s Athena, GA hometown. For the first time, they will also bring their live show to Vancouver, Madison, WI, Nashville, Asheville, NC and Raleigh, NC. Jon Wurster (drums), Wilco’s John Stirratt (bass), Dag Juhlin (guitar) and Vijay Tellis-Nayak (keyboards) will back the duo throughout the shows, which promise a full reading of Document each night in addition a mix of R.E.M. classics.
Earlier this year, Shannon and Narducy celebrated Lifes Rich Pageant on the road, welcoming R.E.M.’s Mike Mills and Peter Buck at the band’s two shows in Athens along with Michael Stipe to sing a pair of selections at the Brooklyn show. The musicians have also toured in support of R.E.M. LPs Murmur and Fables of the Reconstructions.
