On Saturday night, May 16, Bonnie Paine will celebrate the release of her new album. Unseen is the first recording from the singer and multi-instrumentalist, who co-founded Elephant Revival in 2006. The show will take place at Fox Theatre with Her Mana opening the evening.
Unseen offers 10 original songs written by Paine and then recorded with some notable colleagues. The project began with Gregory Alan Isakov on to board to help produce “Fend For Not Fight” at his home. Daniel Sproul (Rose Hill Drive) who has appeared with Elephant Revival in recent years then tracked and produced four songs with Paine. Finally, T Bone Burnett produced 5 tracks in Nashville at Sound Emporium studios.
Prior to the official release of Unseen on Friday, Paine released three singles: “Ashes,” followed by the title track and most recently “Lighthouse.” Paine has said of working with Burnett on “Lighthouse,” which also features Leah Song and Chloe Smith of Rising Appalachia: “I’m deeply honored to have this song shaped by T Bone Burnett, iconic archeologist of the living archive of song. With sisters Leah Song and Chloe Smith of Rising Appalachia weaving soulful, rhythm-swaying harmonies, and Brittany Haas’s stunning violin at its center, it feels like something alive, many voices gathered into one. A turning from fear toward connection, knowing we are of everything, and everything is of us.”
Tickets for the Unseen release party are now on sale, although the Fox has issued a low inventory alert.
