On Monday, Tedeschi Trucks Band performed at Bethel, NY’s Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, which is located on the site of the original 1969 Woodstock festival. Lukas Nelson opened the night and as a nod to Woodstock debuted a tune by one of that seminal event’s enduring acts. Partway through their set, Nelson debuted his take on The Band’s “Up on Cripple Creek,” which was included on their 1969 self-titled album. (They are believed to have performed the cut live for the first time a few months after Woodstock.)
Tedeschi Trucks Band also nodded to a Woodstock act when they ran through back-to-back renditions of Sly & the Family Stone’s “You Can Make It If You Try” and “Everyday People” midway through their set. The large-scale ensemble introduced the covers during their residency at New York’s Beacon Theatre in March and have continued to offer the Stone tribute package throughout their 2026 tour. TTB also encored with Dolly Parton’s “Wildflowers,” the number they worked up after the famed singer’s passing.
Tedeschi Trucks Band and Nelson will take the stage at Lenox, MA’s Tanglewood this evening, before Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi and their group pair with Sheryl Crow for shows in Bridgeport, CT on Friday and Saturday.
