Ain’t In It for My Health: A Film About Levon Helm explores the creation of Helm’s 2010 album Electric Dirt. Director Jacob Hatley spent time with Helm over two years at his Woodstock, NY home to collect footage for the documentary. Electric Dirt, which won the first ever Best Americana Album Grammy, was the follow-up to Helm’s comeback record Dirt Farmer, which received the Grammy for Best Traditional Folk Album. This evening the film will have its Canadian premiere in Toronto as part of the Canadian Music Week Film Fest. Next month, Ain’t In It for My Health will screen in Manhattan, at Cinema Village from April 19-25.
