Members of moe. and Umphrey’s McGee Confirm Late-Night Charlotte Show
On June 11, moe. and Umphrey’s McGee will kick off their joint moe.mentUM Tour at Harrisburg, PA’s XL Live. Near the end of the first leg of the likely collaborative jaunt, members of the two bands will come together for a special late-night show. After performing at the TD Amp Ballantyne in Charlotte, NC on July 10, Umphrey’s McGee singer/guitarist Brendan Bayliss and moe. singer/guitarist Al Schnier will offer a duo set nearby at Charlotte’s The Rabbit Hole. Doors are expected to open at 11pm and music is slated to kick off at midnight.
moe. and Umphrey’s McGee have a rich history together that includes countless co-bills and sit ins throughout the past twenty-plus years. Umphrey’s McGee famously covered moe. early on and Bayliss approached the band about sitting in during their famed late-night set at the inaugural Bonnaroo in 2002, which helped give the band an important career boost. Two years later, moe. made a surprise appearance during Umphrey’s McGee’s after-hours show at the same festival, performing during their set break. The two groups also co-hosted Summer Camp for close to two decades.
Umphrey’s McGee will begin a three-show stand at Livingston, MT’s Pine Creek Lodge this evening while moe. is off the road until the moe.mentUM Tour commences.
