Greenwich Town Party Details New Orleans-Themed Lineup: Preservation Hall Super Jam, The Revivalists, Mavis Staples and More
Today, the Greenwich Town Party shared the lineup for their gathering in Greenwich, Conn., set for May 27, 2023. For this year’s gathering, the collective has decided to celebrate their community by paying homage to another that encapsulates the power of music and togetherness: New Orleans.
Notably, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band performed at the Greenwich Town Party in 2022, along with Billy Joel, Old Crow Medicine Show, Robert Randolph and more and seem to have inspired them to more fully connect with the spirit of their home city.
“Our mission is to create an annual celebration for the people of Greenwich to come together and participate in a day of music, food, fun, family and friendship to experience the strength of community. There is no better example of the transformative power of music and community in tandem than the sounds and soul of New Orleans. This year, the Greenwich Town Party represents a wide range of genres and generations… a New Orleans style star-studded special event that is a party both on stage and in the crowd. GTP 2023 will be the ultimate homage to our founder’s vision and the core tenets of this unique event.”
To celebrate New Orleans and the town of Greenwich, the town party will welcome a Preservation Hall Superjam, The Revivalists, Mavis Staples and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. The super jam will feature contributions from the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Wyclef Jean, Trombone Shorty, Irma Thomas, George Porter, JR., Cyril Neville, Ivan Neville, Eric Krasno, Celisse, Tony Hall, Raymond Weber, Tarriona “Tank” Ball and more.
