Over the weekend, Brandi Carlile took The Human Tour to The Big Apple for a two-night stay at Madison Square Garden. The concerts served as support for her latest studio effort, Returning to Myself, the artist’s eighth overall release, which arrived on October 24. Friday’s New York City kick-off included tour debuts of “Turpentine,” “Every Time I Hear That Song,” and the Elton John [Bernie Taupin] co-written “You Without Me.” 

Night two brought more tour debuts, including “Broken Horses” and the arrival of a guest and longtime friend of the headliner, Sara Bareilles, who joined Carlile at the top of her Valentine’s Day encore for Bareilles’ own “Salt Then Sour Then Sweet.” Also serving as support were the Head and the Heart, who, along with frontrunner, Carlile, were captured in concert by photographer Bill Kelly.
