Rainbow Body have confirmed their first live appearance. The all-star project, which brings together Dawes’ Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith, Goose’s Rick Mitaratonda, Soulive’s Eric Krasno, Terrapin Family Band’s Ross James and Circles Around the Sun’s Adam McDougall, will perform at Irvine, CA’s Irvine Bowl on October 23 as part of the Concerts in the Canyon series. Argentinian singer Ignacio Maria Gomez and double bassist/composer Garth Stevenson will open the night. Other acts slated to take part in the concert series include: Preservation Hall Jazz Band (10/3), Aloe Blacc (10/4), Ben Harper, G. Love, Donavon Frankenreiter and Lily Meola (10/24) and Amos Lee, G. Love, Donavon Frankenreiter and Lily Meola (10/25).

Earlier this year, Taylor Goldsmith teased the new project on his Substack page and the musicians formally announced Rainbow Body just a few days ago. Oteil Burbridge is also involved with the band, who recorded new music in Iceland, though it appears he will not tour with the outfit due to other commitments.
