In March 2016, Houndmouth keyboard player/singer Katie Toupin left the group. She eventually decamped from Louisville, KY and relocated to Los Angeles. Toupin settled in, began writing new music and eventually recorded her new EP Moroccan Ballroom in this new locale. When she entered Village Studios, her original intent was to demo some new material but Toupin later deemed the resulting tracks–recorded live without overdubs or edits–worthy of release.

Today we share her official video for “Shake Baby.” She explains, “I wanted the video to reflect the confusion and panic I felt as I began to put a new life together in Los Angeles. But more importantly, I wanted the chorus to ring true, that little by little, things are starting to fall into place.”
