It’s well documented that John Mayer is a bit of a watch aficionado. The Dead & Company guitarist’s collection of timepieces is allegedly worth tens of millions of dollars, and he’s often spotted onstage wearing one of his many prized possessions.
Mayer recently sat down with watch publication Hodinkee for a tour of his collection, including a custom Grateful Dead Rolex.
As he tells it, Mayer purchased the white gold GMT at the Rolex Boutique in New York City, and almost immediately got a covert “Steal Your Face” logo engraved on the back.
“It was always a little secret talisman on my wrist. A little ‘good luck’ to myself. A little, ‘Don’t screw this up,”” he laughs.
Watch the guitarist describe the timepiece around the 22-minute mark below.
