On February 8 Galactic will release their 10th studio album, Already Ready Already. The new record finds the  New Orleans-based quintet enlisiting notable guests, including Princess Shaw, Miss Charm Taylor, Nahko, David Shaw Erica Falls and BOYFRIEND. Today along with SiriusXM’s Jam_ON, we premiere “Clap Your Hands” feat. Miss Charm Taylor from the forthcoming album. Galactic bassist Rob Mercurio says of Already Ready Already, “It’s not that we’re always trying to push boundaries but we definitely take influence from our hometown and try to do something new with it. We tour all around the world and we’re exposed to tons of elements that filter their way into our consciousness and come out through our music.”

Galactic will next perform on December 31 at celebrated New Orleans music venue Tipitina’s. This is a particularly notable event, as earlier this week the band announced that they had purchased the club. At that time Galataic drummer Stanton Moore explained, “Our goal is to preserve, promote, and protect the future of New Orleans music, culture and heritage via the Tipitina’s venue and brand.” Bandmate Ben Ellman added, “We’re so incredibly honored to be part of the team tasked to be the current caretakers of such a historic venue. My connection with the club started way before I was lucky enough to take the stage. My first job in New Orleans was at Tipitina’s as a cook in the (now defunct) kitchen. The importance of respecting what Tips means for musicians and the city of New Orleans is not lost on us. We’re excited for the future of the club and look forward to all the amazing music and good times ahead!”
