Nashville psychedelic dance funk collective LUTHI will release their debut album this Friday, May 11. The 9-piece group which is hailed for its infectious live shows has translated that energy into the studio setting on Stranger. LUTHI will celebrate the record with a performance that night at in their hometown at Exit/In. Beyond their own headlining dates the band will share their “Cumberland Funk” at such fests as Hangout, Electric Forest and Cathead Jam. Today we share a taste of what’s to come with the premiere of the new record, which is now available for pre-order.

The band tells Relix, “Our new album, Stranger, is the culmination of not only a few short months of recording, but the past 5-10 years of finding our way, individually and as a band, through life and the music business. Some of the songs on Stranger were fleshed out and written in the studio, some of them we’ve been playing for three or four years now, and some even pre-date LUTHI altogether. Stranger represents our journey to make the music we believe in, and on a broader scale, to help folks shake off the work-week at a show or fuel ridiculous road trips with song.”
