Slightly Stoopid Recruit Wiz Khalifa and G. Love for New Single
Slightly Stoopid have recruited both Wiz Khalifa and G. Love for their newest single, “Backseat Drivin’.” The track is said to have grown from a mutual admiration between the three artists. Slightly Stoopid and Khalifa first connected at Brazil’s Planeta Brasil Festival in 2018 and have continued to champion each other’s music while sharing a well-documented affinity for cannabis culture. Long inspired by Khalifa’s original sound, Slightly Stoopid have frequently closed their live shows with his anthem “Young, Wild & Free,” making “Backseat Drivin’” a full-circle collaboration for the San Diego outfit. G. Love, meanwhile, has remained one of the band’s closest creative partners, most recently joining Slightly Stoopid on the 2025 single “Shine For You.”
“‘Backseat Drivin’’ is all about the carefree spirit of summer, cramming into your best friend’s car with the music turned all the way up, chasing waves at the beach and ending the night at house parties that somehow last until sunrise,” Slightly Stoopid said in a statement. “It’s about making memories, embracing the adventure, and always looking for the next good time. We hope everyone enjoys the ride.”

“Backseat Drivin’” follows recent singles “Step Into The Sun,” “The Upside Down” (feat. B-Real and Chali 2na) and the G. Love-enhanced “Shine For You,” all of which will eventually be packaged on Slightly Stoopid’s forthcoming 10th studio album.
Slightly Stoopid are currently on the road and will appear at Buffalo, NY’s Outer Harbor Live at Terminal B this evening. The Elovaters and Bumpin Uglies will supply support duties.
