T.J. Martell Foundation to Honor Red Light Management’s Coran Capshaw at 51st Annual Benefit Gala

The T.J. Martell Foundation will present its Lifetime Music Industry Award to Coran Capshaw, Founder of Red Light Management, at its 51st annual New York Honors Gala. Returning to New York’s Cipriani 42nd Street on Sept. 15, the music industry’s foremost charitable foundation for cancer research will honor the distinguished industry leader’s professional achievements and philanthropic commitments as the centerpiece of its primary annual fundraising event.

“I am incredibly honored to support this life-saving work,” Capshaw said. “Giving back has always been important to me, and being able to engage our generous music community to support vitally important organizations such as the T.J. Martell Foundation is something I’m proud of and will keep doing my part however I can.”

With Capshaw’s guidance, Red Light Management has become the world’s largest independent artist management company, with a client roster that generates $500 million in ticket sales annually, per Pollstar. Capshaw personally manages Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Chris Stapleton and The Strokes, among other prestigious acts, and his impact has extended to other areas of the music industry through work with standard-bearing festivals through Starr Hill Presents and a partnership with major venues like the Brooklyn Bowls and Allianz Amphitheater at Riverfront.

Capshaw’s prior recognitions through the course of his three-and-a-half-decade career include seven wins of Pollstar‘s coveted Manager of the Year award (in 1998, 2003, 2010, 2018, 2019, 2025 and 2026) and his historic selection as the first manager to win Billboard‘s Humanitarian Award in 2011. Since 2018, he’s donated more than $25 million in partnership with the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority and Dave Matthews Band towards the renovation and expansion of the city’s public housing.

“We are deeply honored to recognize our esteemed music industry colleague Coran Capshaw with this year’s Lifetime Music Industry Award, a tribute to decades of remarkable dedication and philanthropic leadership,” said Steve Gawley, Executive Vice President, Republic Co., Head of Business & Legal Affairs, Republic Collective and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, T.J. Martell Foundation. “This event is a celebration of those in the music industry whose unwavering passion and generosity are vital to advancing our mission. Coran’s enduring commitment to philanthropy, as well as his ability to rally artists in support of meaningful causes, has made a profound impact on our community. We are proud to shine a spotlight on Coran’s exceptional leadership and lasting contributions to the causes that matter most.”
