Montreux Jazz Festival Unveils 2026 Lineup: Van Morrison, James Taylor, Charles Lloyd, The Roots, Nick Cave and More
Montreux Jazz Festival has released the programming for its 2026 presentation. Returning to the Lake Geneva shoreline in Montreux, Switzerland from July 3–18, the legendary music festival’s 60th anniversary staging will once again showcase a genre-colliding lineup of celebrated artists from around the world, including icons like Van Morrison, James Taylor, Sting, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Deep Purple.
Montreux’s lineup totals 20 artists split across shared bills at its longtime venues of the Montreux Jazz Lab and Auditorium Stravinski, as the festival returns to the latter after two years of renovations. While it focused exclusively on jazz at its founding in 1976, the Montreux now routinely welcomes a diverse host of acts from the worlds of pop, rock, R&B, electronic, hip-hop and more. Some of the highest profile bookings outside the traditional scope in this year’s event include The Isley Brothers, The Roots, Aldous Harding, Pinkpantheress, Moby, Dove Ellis, Angus & Julia Stone, Young Miko, Danny L Harre, Cerrone, Vulfpeck, Rival Sons, ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U and RAYE, who returns for her third consecutive year and will lead an opening night performance with special guests.
Manifesting the festival’s connection to its roots at this year’s event is the legendary jazz saxophonist and flutist Charles Lloyd, who performed at the inaugural event and will make his return six decades later. Other standard-bearing jazz participants include Billy Cobham’s Time Machine, Gregory Porter and Marcus Miller, who will assemble an ensemble for We Want Miles!, a 100th birthday tribute to Miles Davis.
