“There Will Be Music in Newport This Summer”: Rhode Island Governor Gives Green Light to Newport Folk 2021

On March 18, Newport Folk Festival shared a message from Rhode Island Governor Daniel McKee, noting that “There will be music in Newport this summer.”
And while organizers of the historic festival are quick to note that Newport 2021 will have “modified capacities” and “won’t look exactly the same,” they are “thrilled to be bringing music and artists back to the Fort.”
More details on the festival will arrive in the near future, but organizers assure fans that they are “working hand in hand with state and local government and various health officials to ensure that what we present will set a benchmark for safety and transparency through our protocols and communication.”
