Jorma Kaukonen teams up with John Hurlbut on their new album, The River Flows. Kakonen produced the record, which was engineered and mixed by Justin Guip (Levon Helm, Larry & Teresa Williams). The pair interpret a variety of songs written and popularized by such artists as Roger McGuinn, Curtis Mayfield, George Jones, Spencer Bohren and Hurlbut, himself.

Kaukonen tells Relix, “The River Flows was born on the Fur Peace Ranch stage and for us was a rare and positive bi-product of the pandemic. I chose to play and record songs I’d never done before. This project and this video shows what can happen when one gets that rare opportunity to make art and music with no other agenda than the art itself.”

Today we premiere the official video for McGuinn’s “The Ballad of Easy Rider” Bob Sarles directed the video, with quarantine concert footage directed by Andie Walla and camerawork by Vanessa and Izze Kaukonen.
