On Tuesday, Oct. 28, Cage the Elephant arrived in Port Chester, N.Y., for the first of two nights at The Capitol Theatre. The indie veterans’ performance packed a review of their extensive catalog into an energetic 21-song set, starting with a lively version of their Social Cues highlight “Broken Boy.” The band carried that initial burst of energy into a surfy “Cry Baby,” then kept the infectious pop momentum going with songs from all six of their studio albums. Key moments included “Too Late to Say Goodbye,” “Cold Cold Cold,” “Mess Around,” “Trouble,” “Ain’t No Rest for the Wicked,” “House of Glass,” and a closing performance of “Sabertooth Tiger.” After a long and electrifying night, Cage the Elephant finished their show with a four-song encore featuring “Back Against the Wall,” “Shake Me Down,” “Cigarette Daydreams” — introduced by a tease of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Sweet Home Alabama” — and finally 2013’s Melophobia centerpiece “Come a Little Closer.”
