Grateful Dead Members Play for Senator Boxer

Grateful Dead bandmates and Furthur collaborators Bob Weir and Phil Lesh performed at a reception to support the re-election of U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer yesterday. The event took place in San Rafael, CA and featured a mix of familiar songs: ‘When I Paint My Masterpiece,’ ‘Peggy-O,’ ‘A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall,’ ‘Bird Song’ and ‘Ripple.’ Weir sang lead on ‘Masterpiece,’ ‘A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall’ and ‘Ripple,’ while Lesh led ‘Peggy-O’ and ‘Bird Song.’ Furthur will perform at New York’s Nokia on July 28 and 29.
