Wet Tuna: Water Weird

The duo of Matt Valentine and PG Six (Pat Gubler) have been recording a syrupy sort of mutant folk-rock together since the early ‘00s. Wet Tuna is the latest iteration of their avant-improv take on the endless boogle Water Weird (Three Lobed) is their second album of haunted-house, front-porch spontaneity. Galactic winds howl in the background of “Poor Old Interstellar,” the Dead’s “West L.A. Fadeaway” is zombified in “Cowpath 40” and “Roam” drifts freely in the aether. It’s chopped, screwed and, not unlike Brad Pitt, ready to carry your load.
