Lee “Scratch” Perry: Revelation

Megawave
They say you start to lose your verbal filter when you reach your golden years. So then, what does that mean for 74-year-old dub godfather Lee “Scratch” Perry, who was already crazy to begin with? Well, it entails writing songs about Michael Jackson’s nose, hosting a party with the Three Wise Men and having hidden aspirations of becoming a weatherman – all bizarre talking points he addresses on his solo album Revelation, recorded at his mansion in the Swiss Alps. However, with the kind of echo-drenched dirt-floor reggae conjured up on this 13-track platter by longtime collaborator Steve Marshall, and cameos from such top-shelf compatriots as Keith Richards and George Clinton, Scratch could be singing tweets from Justin Bieber and it would still sound otherworldly.
