Hailing from Ithaca, N.Y.‘s eclectic music scene, Jimkata found its first taste of success playing sweaty house parties throughout the college town. “It can be tough leaving that era,” explains drummer Packy Lunn, “but at the same time, we have an advantage because a lot of people we know have moved away and are spreading the word.” For the third time, the quartet is returning to Electric Wilburland, a local church-turned-recording studio, in order to record a follow up to 2009’s Burn My Money. “With Burn My Money, we were really proud of what we did, but it seems many people don’t sit down and listen to whole albums as much as they used to,” says Lunn. We still try to put on a heavy-hitting rock show in the studio but this time around we are going at it a little different."
