ZZ Top Expand Elevation Tour After Drummer Frank Beard’s Return
ZZ Top’s Elevation Tour has swelled with added dates. The new slate of live appearances arrives after drummer Frank Beard rejoined the tour earlier this month, following a foot and ankle injury that required a period of rest.
With the band back together, they have tacked on more than a dozen new shows that will take them to select locations this fall. Their itinerary now includes a concert on Sept. 5 at the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Okla., followed by a series of already announced gigs, before their next new appearance on Sept. 14 at the Hollywood Casino in Charles Town, W.V.
The group, the subject of their Grammy-nominated documentary titled “That Little Ol’ Band from Texas,” will take the stage at American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pa., on Sept. 15. They will then proceed with a tight run of previously announced dates, before celebrating Halloween, October 31, at Las Vegas’ Palms Casino Resort Pearl Concert Theater.
The band will embark on the California leg of their tour next, commencing on Nov. 2, at the Viejas Casino & Resort in Alpine, Calif., prior to their ensuing concert at Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, Calif., on Nov. 4. Rounding out the Elevation Tour is a Nov. 7 gig at Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
Commenting on the new dates and experience thus far, Billy Gibbons said, “This has been a great tour so we figured it would be a good idea to add some additional dates to keep the good times rolling. Come on out and see us at a concert venue near you.”
