Zac Brown Band brought the September leg of their Love & Fear tour to a close at Hollywood, FL’s Hard Rock Live on Saturday. The country-crossover act has been performing numerous covers every night, dedicating the entirety of their encores to crowd favorites. In Hollywood, they also dusted off their take on Charlie Daniels Band’s “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” for the first time this summer, just two songs into the night.
The tribute was their latest surprise Southern-rock cover this week. On both Thursday at Charleston, SC’s Credit One Stadium and Friday at Tampa, FL’s Benchmark International Arena, opening act Brothers Osborne took the stage during Zac Brown Band’s set to help out on a medley of the blues classic “One Way Out,” which The Allman Brothers Band have long made their own, and the ABB showstopper “Whipping Post.” While in Charleston, Zac Brown Band also invited local hero, and Hootie & The Blowfish guitarist, Mark Byron to the stage for his band’s hit “Only Wanna Be With You.” Continuing with the Southern-rock theme, the shows also closed with the Lynyrd Skynyrd anthem “Free Bird.”
Zac Brown Band’s tour picks up at Knoxville, TN’s Food City Center on October 8. Grace Potter will kick off the night.
