Last week, Willie Nelson’s camp issued a statement informing fans and forthcoming Outlaw Music Festival attendees that the revered artist would take a break from his rigorous touring schedule at a doctor’s order after reportedly not feeling well enough to take the stage. As a follow-up to the initial pause in appearances, Nelson’s camp issued a note today, informing the public that he would not be in attendance at tonight’s concert, June 26, at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, Va.

The latest statement shared on behalf of the 91-year-old country troubadour presented, “Willie Nelson will not be performing at tonight’s show in Virginia Beach. We expect Willie to return to the tour shortly.” As added information on this evening’s concert, which will go on without Nelson, the message continued, “Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Celisse, will perform as scheduled. In addition, Lukas Nelson and Family along with some special guests will play his own set which will include Willie’s classics and other songs.”

Today’s development follows Friday’s statement: “We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days. He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival next week.” See the aforementioned statements below [via Nelson’s official Instagram].
