Watch Mitch Chakour and Lukas Nelson Join Tedeschi Trucks Band at Tanglewood

10:59 AM EDT on September 3, 2026

Tedeschi Trucks Band made their way to Lenox, MA last evening. There the 12-piece performed at Tanglewood’s Koussevitzky Music Shed. Lukas Nelson was back on board on open the show, which concluded in a memorable fashion.

The duodecet opened with “Crazy Cryin'” from TTB's latest release Future Soul. They also offered a version of Dolly Parton’s “Wildflowers,” which debuted last week in tribute to the late musician. Other highlights included versions of Gregg Allman’s “Come and Go Blues” and Boby Dylan’s “Tangled Up in Blue,” as well as pairings of “It Ain't Fair” with “Dreams,” as well as “I Want More” with “Beck's Bolero.”

The encore began with James Taylor’s “Fire and Rain,” a nod to the artist, who has long lived in the area. From there, Nelson emerged to join on a version of Neil Young’s “Helpless,” which he has played with the group a few times this summer. Then they moved into “Space Captain” another prior collab, which Joe Cocker performed on the Mad Dogs & Englishmen tour. One notable addition to the ensemble was Mitch Chakour. The keyboard player who is the father of TTB singer Alecia Chakour was Cocker’s Musical Director for five years in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
