Last night, Aug. 7, Zach Bryan took the stage at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field for the second and final night of the stop on his Quittin Time Tour. To continue the thrills of a run that has regularly shot to the headlines, Bryan brought a dream team of special guests to support his final 2024 performance in the City of Brotherly Love, including the great Bruce Springsteen, whose appearance followed a first live collaboration earlier this year.
After cycling through classics like “Overtime,” “God Speed,” “The Great American Bar Scene” and “28,” Bryan marked the mid-point in his set with a sit-in from The Lumineers, who are featured on the standout cut from Bryan’s self-titled and have joined in all four of its live stagings. The artist continued through more live staples like “Oklahoma Sideshow” and “Condemned” before shocking the audience with the opening chords of “Atlantic City,” which called The Boss himself to the stage to rip through the treasured Nebraska cut. Springsteen remained onstage for “Sandpaper,” which saw the duo trade verses and meet in the chorus for a soul-stirring treatment.
Bryan closed his set with “Quittin’ Time,” then returned to the stage for an encore with “Revival.” To the awe of the crowd, Springsteen came back for this track, echoing his appearance for the encore of Zach Bryan’s March 17 performance at Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Barclays Center, when the two artists–plus Maggie Rogers–encircled a single microphone for a soaring treatment. The Lumineers also joined in Wednesday’s encore, as did comedian Shane Gillis; collectively, the ensemble traded the spotlight and danced in a circle. turning the song into an unforgettably spirited revelry. Watch a fan-recorded video of the moment below.
Zach Bryan will perform again on Saturday, August 10, for the first of two nights at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. For tickets and more information on the artist’s Quittin Time Tour, visit zachbryan.com/tour.
