Unprecedented Exhibition ‘Echoes of Gen X: The Art of the Fillmore (1980s–2000s)’ Will Open at LA’s Gabba Gallery on February 21

The Gabba Gallery in Los Angeles, will host a momentous, comprehensive exhibition that opens later this month. Echoes of Gen X: The Art of the Fillmore (1980s–2000s) will focus on the past few decades of the iconic San Francisco music venue. A collection of deadstock gig prints and ephemera from the beloved concert facility will be on display from February 21 through April 11.

All told, more than 1,000 concerts are represented in this collection, which extends from the late 1980s through the early 2000s. The bands include: B.B. King, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Jane’s Addiction, Ween, The Black Crowes, Santana, Sonic Youth, moe., Blues Traveler, Cypress Hill, Green Day, My Morning Jacket, No Doubt, Primus, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer and hundreds of others.

The extensive list of artists, which also numbers in the hundreds, features Chuck Sperry, Chris Shaw, Christopher Peterson, Frank Kozik, Harry, Rossit, Lee Conklin, Randy Tuten, Rex Ray and Todd Slater.

Opening night will be Saturday, February 21 from 6–10 PM. DJ Jonathan Williams will be on hand for this all ages event with free admission. Jason Ostro and Elena Jacobson are serving as curators with some classic Fillmore items from the 1960s and 1970s on hand as well.
