Philadelphia NPR affiliate WXPN just aired an acoustic performance and interview with Trey Anastasio on its World Café program. While the conversation focused on his new album Traveler, it also explored his recovery from addiction, his work on the musical Hands on a Hardbody and also a bit about Phish. Anastasio performed “Architect,” “Let Me Lie” and “Backwards Down The Number Line” on his acoustic. Then he explained that he was reluctant to perform solo gigs but eventually was won over in part because “the Phish audience is just so cool” and “people started spontaneously singing these crossing lines” on song such as “Limb By Limb.” The full interview can be heard here.

Anastasio kicks off a brief tour with his solo band on January 18 in Toronto.
