Tower of Power, the legendary funk, soul, and fusion outfit out of Oakland, Calif., has returned today to announce the 2024 edition of its annual Holidays and Hits Tour. Carrying on a beloved tradition of bringing its inimitable brass-and-bass sound and five-decade legacy across the country for a year-end celebration, this year’s tour will also support the release of the ensemble’s forthcoming holiday album It’s Christmas, set to release on Sept. 27.

“Reflecting on 56 years of Tower of Power, it’s mind-blowing to see the incredible outpouring of love for our music around the world,” shared founder and bandleader Emilio Castillo. “This time, we’re bringing a little extra holiday spirit to the stage with our brand-new holiday album, It’s Christmas, and it’s going to be something really special. We’re excited to celebrate both the holidays and the hits that have defined us. But first, we’ll see you on the upcoming fall tour for a SOUL VACCINATION!”

Tower of Power’s first full-length holiday album will feature the iconic outfit’s take on holiday standards like “Silver Bells,” “O Holy Night” and “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” alongside a handful of new holiday originals from the group. Entries from this project, and the band’s massively acclaimed broader canon (including such unforgettable albums as 1972’s Bump City, 1975’s Urban Renewal and their 1973 self-titled), will be on display on the Holidays and Hits Tour, which will make 11 stops across the country from Dec. 3 to Dec. 21. Fans can find the band in New York, Atlantic City, N.J., Newark, Ohio, Joliet, Ill., Santa Fe, Tuscon, Ariz. and back to Oakland, among others.

It’s Christmas is available to pre-order now. For tickets and more information on the Holidays and Hits Tour, visit www.towerofpower.com.
