The String Cheese Incident closed out the summer leg of their Just Keep Spinning tour with a big, two-night campout at Eau Claire, WI’s The Pines Music Park over the weekend. Leftover Salmon opened on Friday while Lettuce supplied support duties on Saturday, and the evening’s hosts delivered a full, two-set show each night.
Near the end of their first set on night one, String Cheese Incident invited out their old friends from Leftover Salmon for a few tunes. First, banjo player Andy Thorn, mandolinist Drew Emmitt, singer/guitarist Vince Hermann and percussionist Alwyn Robinson emerged for String Cheese Incident’s first take on Conrad Mauge’s “Zombie Jamboree” since November 2, 2013. Then, Hermann stepped off the stage and the rest of the Leftover Salmon members remained for the enduring SCI original “Colorado Bluebird Sky.” During String Cheese Incident’s second set, while in the middle of an extended segue, the ensemble also busted out Pink Floyd’s “Fearless” for the first time since November 2, 2024.
The String Cheese Incident will perform at Vail, CO’s Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater on September 11 and 12. They will also stage The Moroccan Incident in Marrakesh, Morocco from September 24-26.
