The Rolling Stones continued their U.S. tour supporting Hackney Diamonds on Tuesday, May 7. After closing out their headlining appearance at the 2024 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, the esteemed British rock group took their live show to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., where they treated a packed house to multitudes of classics, and keeping with their current trend, tour debuts and a bust outs.

Tuesday’s show kicked off similarly to previous stops on their current tour, with a crowd-rousing “Start Me Up” setting the tone for a highly energized performance from Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, and their backing band. Tactfully, the troupe placed a tour debut in the evening second slot: the 1974 title track off It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll, which doubled as a bust out and last played on Nov. 20, 2021.

The aforementioned motif bled into position three on the setlist, with the first live performance of “She’s So Cold” since 2019. Pulling from their Hackney Diamonds set next, the group delivered “Angry” for only the fourth time before trading new for old on fan favorite “Beast of Burden.” Fans voted “Monkey Man” in as the next tune, noted as a tour debut, last played in 2021. “Mess It Up” and “Tumbling Dice” rolled in next before the band turned down the tempo with the arrival of “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

Richards treated the audience to a “Little T&A” prior to a cascade of classics: “Sympathy For The Devil,” “Honky Tonk Women,” “Miss You,” “Gimme Shelter,” “Paint It Black,” and a frame ending, “Jumpin’ Jack Flash.” For the final sonic deliverables, the core band ran through their new tune “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” before stepping back to 1965 on “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.”

After last night’s show, the band will rest before resuming their Hackney Diamonds tour on May 11 at Allegant Stadium in Las Vegas. Tickets remain on sale.
