The Return of The Del Fuegos

December 16, 2011

The Del Fuegos have announced that they will take to the road in 2012, well over two decades since their previous tour. This past summer the original quartet performed a sold-out reunion gig in Boston and the band has announced new shows over two weeks starting in late February. The Del Fuegos, led by brothers Dan and Warren Zanes gained notoriety in the 1980’s on the strength of such songs “Don’t Run Wild,” “I Still Want You” and “Move With Me Sister.” The group shared bills with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Bob Dylan, the Replacements and many other acts before fractious relations between the Zanes led the group to disband. Since then, guitarist Warren Zanes, who earned a Ph.D from the University of Rochester in Visual and Cultural Studies has served as Vice President of Education and Programs at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (he served as a presenter at the 2005 Jammys), vocalist Dan Zanes has released multiple albums of children’s music, bass player Tom Lloyd earned a Ph.D from Caltech in Environmental Engineering Science and drummer Woody Giessmann started Right Turn, an addiction treatment program in Arlington, MA.
