The Gorge Amphitheatre Announces Entry Process Changes Ahead of Brandi Carlile’s Echoes Through the Canyon Weekend Following Griztronics Backlash

The Gorge Amphitheatre has shared new venue guidelines ahead of Brandi Carlile’s Echoes Through the Canyon event, May 29-31. The manual of sorts arrives in response to fan backlash after heavy traffic and backups caused extreme delays for attendees at the first-ever Griztronics weekend, May 23-24.
Individuals who purchased camping passes during the Memorial Day weekend event will now receive full refunds following reports of multi-hour waits to enter the campground and move through security checkpoints. The Gorge has shared a statement in which they attributed issues to “unusually high early arrivals.”
The venue released a statement following the outdoor gathering, in which they acknowledged frustrations and detailed refunds:
The Gorge is committed to providing an excellent camping experience and we take safety and security seriously. Given unusually high early arrivals it took too long for campers to enter, and we understand the frustration this caused.
All camping purchasers will automatically receive full refunds and will see these reflected at their point of purchase within the next 5-7 business days.
Our teams worked through the night to increase entry capacity by adding more screening lanes and currently lines are running at normal speed.
Fans who are on their way should still arrive early and allow plenty of time to enter the camping area.
According to local reports, congestion leading into the venue affected tens of thousands of fans traveling for the live music experience during Memorial Day weekend. Bumper-to-bumper traffic extended for miles on the rural stretch of road that leads to the concert location, including access points from Interstate 90.
