The Bowery Presents, the East Coast regional partner of AEG Live, shared today that they’ll open a new 650-capacity club in the heart of the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City called Racket. The new club was announced simply with an image of white text on a red background reading “Racket NYC.”

Racket is set to fill the mid-sized venue-shaped hole left in the hearts of many New Yorkers following the closure of The Highline Ballroom, which operated in the heart of Chelsea for 12 years and shuttered its doors on Feb. 18, 2019, after it was unable to renew its lease.

In the collaborative Instagram post announcing the venue, The Bowery Presents and Racket wrote, “details on the venue & show announcements coming soon until then, follow along to stay in the know. let’s make a racket 💥”
