The Avett Brothers have confirmed their New Year’s plans. The Concord, NC-bred group will ring in 2027 at Asheville, NC’s ExploreAsheville.com Arena on December 31, capping off a busy year that saw the group launch its side-project with Mike Patton, AVTT/PTTN. Mountain Grass Unit and Homeboy Sandman will open the show.
The ensemble has a long, rich history with Asheville and they have performed at the mountain town’s arena on New Year’s Eve several different times, including last year. They first headlined the famed venue in 2009, when the Avetst moved their New Year’s Eve show from the smaller Thomas Wolfe Auditorium up to the Asheville Civic Center to accommodate more fans as their popularity surged following the release of I and Love and You.
The Avett Brothers will perform next at New Haven, CT’s Westville Music Bowl on September 17. Guster will open the night. Meanwhile, Mountain Grass Unit will appear at New Orleans’ Tipitina’s tonight and Homeboy Sandman will perform at Troy, NY’s No Fun on November 6.
