The 8x10 Club in Baltimore has closed over the summer while ramping up for a reopening with a new ownership group. The 300-capacity venue in the historic Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore will be run with Rising Sun Presents as well as Baltimore native and venue regular Cris Jacobs.
As Jacobs said following the initial announcement in June, “The 8x10 has helped shape who I am as a person and an artist. It’s been that sacred space for creating music and building lifelong communities in Baltimore for decades. I honor the opportunity to help preserve and continue its legacy with the Rising Sun Presents team, who are truly some of the most righteous folks in the business."
The 8x10 has just announced its first slate of shows with the new team in place. First up will be a special Donor Party on October 8 featuring Cris Jacobs & Friends with Steve Kimock, George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, Jennifer Hartswick and John Morgan Kimock. The Tom Hamilton Band will appear the next evening, and other confirmed artists include Rhett Miller, Everyone Orchestra ft. Cris Jacobs + members of Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Dogs In A Pile, Skeleton Crewe, Kendall Street Company.
