Tedeschi Trucks Band have cancelled their upcoming appearances at Floyd, Va’s FloydFest and Newport, RI’s Newport Folk Fest after singer/guitarist Susan Tedeschi had an appendix scare that will require surgery. The ensemble was slated to perform at the veteran festivals on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

In a post this morning, Tedeschi explained:

FloydFest will kick off on Wednesday, July 22. My Morning Jacket, Lukas Nelson and Stephen Wilson Jr. are among the event’s other headliners. Meanwhile, Newport Folk will commence this Friday, July 24, with Hayley Williams, Hot Tuna, Dawes Duo, Cat Power and Brandi Carlile among the marquee acts. TTB’s next scheduled show is their return to Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks on July 31. Nelson is slated to open.
