Fear of Music is the Talking Heads’ third studio effort. Released in 1979, this was the group’s second collaboration with producer Brian Eno. The album includes such notable songs as "Cities," "Life During Wartime," "Heaven" and "I Zimbra" yet it is the totality of musical atmosphere that led it to be named Album of the Year by multiple publications (including the Los Angeles Times and NME). It remains a presence on numerous lists of all-time best records.

Rhino has announced Fear of Music (Super Deluxe Edition) is a 3-CD/Blu-ray set that will included a remastered version of the original record, some alternative versions and outtakes from the recording sessions, as well as two live performances from the Feat of Music tour. These live shows took place at Boston’s Berklee Performance Center on 8/24/79 and the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey on 11/17/79.  The Blu-ray offers includes new Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround sound, and high-resolution stereo mixes of the record. It also includes footage of the band performing two songs on the BBC’s Old Grey Whistle Test.

There are also vinyl options. A 6-LP Super Deluxe Edition that collects the remastered album, rarities, and concert recordings. A 2-LP version offers the remastered album and rarities.

The vinyl and CD Super Deluxe Editions come with a 60-page hardcover book featuring rare photos and deep-dive liner notes by Will Hermes, author of Love Goes to Buildings on Fire: Five Years in New York That Changed Music Forever.

The complete track listings appear beneath the version of “Life During Wartime” from Old Grey Whistle Test. Pre-orders are now underway.
