Steve Miller Announces Return to Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Steve Miller has announced his impending return to Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Theatre in New York City. The two-night event has been dubbed Steve Miller on Steve Miller: A Blues and Rock and Roll Journey, and is slated for Nov. 11 and 12.
The renowned musician, known for classics like “The Joker,” “Take The Money and Run,” and “Fly Like an Eagle,” will continue the tradition of working through fan favorites and borrowed material from his blues heroes when he takes the fabled stage next month.
For the two-night stand and for the first time, Miller will welcome members of his celebrated Steve Miller Band, including Kenny Lee Lewis (bass), Joseph Wooten (keyboards), Jacob Petersen (guitar) and Ron Wikso (drums).
Also scheduled to participate in the musical occasions are special guest jazz players like Carlos Henriquez (bass), Shelly Berg (piano), Sherman Irby (alto saxophone), Craig Handy (tenor saxophone), Mike Rodriquez (trumpet) and Brian Nova (guitar).
