Celebrated singer-songwriter Rosanne Cash alongside six-time Grammy Award-winning producer John Leventhal, has announced the formation of a new record label. Today, the pair shared details behind RumbleStrip Records, a project resulting from three decades of partnership and collaboration.

In a press release, the duo unveiled aspects behind their future endeavors, noting that RumbleStrip Records will serve as a home for special projects, archives, and reissues–including the first vinyl pressing of Cash’s landmark album, The Wheel, which was recorded in the early ‘90s, following her first move to New York City.

The Wheel brought Cash and Leventhal together through business and sparked a deep commitment to each other as life partners. Of note, Leventhal produced Cash’s 1993 set. In addition to her eighth studio album, the pair intend to release a series that re-explores the songstress’ recently-acquired catalog of master recordings from 1978-1993. In addition to Cash’s work, in early 2024, the label will release Leventhal’s first solo album.

RumbleStrip Records joins stalwart Thirty Tigers for distribution. “I have listened to Rosanne Cash’s music ever since Seven Year Ache came out, and I was working in record stores,” offered Thirty Tigers founder David Macias. “She has continued to grow and push the boundaries of her creative powers. I respect her immensely. She is a vital artist, and I am so thrilled that she has agreed to team up with Thirty Tigers.”

Cash added, “John and I are excited about starting our own label, and we are tremendously grateful to be partnered with Thirty Tigers, who know how to get it done!”
