Roger Waters has issued a call for singers to front his son, Harry Waters’ Pink Floyd tribute band. An impetus for creative know-how during the British prog-rock band’s golden era, Sir Waters is aiding his son’s search for a lead singer to co-opt the lyrics and his own vocal register while singing revered picks like the low “Comfortably Numb” and high “Don’t Leave Me Now.” In a video announcing the search, Waters asks: “Are you the missing link?”
According to the original band’s one-time singer/bassist, the forthcoming project is titled “Roger Waters Presents LEGACY – A Pink Floyd Show Performed by the Harry Waters Band.” It is paired with the tagline, “The Father’s Legacy, the Son’s Band.”
Outlining the intent behind pulling a new lead singer, the elder Waters wrote on social media: “My son @harrywatersmusic has put a great band and show together to go on the road next year to pay tribute to the music from the golden era of @pinkfloyd and maybe a couple of songs from my subsequent solo career.”
He continues, writing at length:
Harry’s band is missing one thing. The voice I had when I was young.
Back in the day, I could sing everything from the soft urgency of “Hello, is there anybody in there?” from ‘Comfortably Numb’, to the high-pitched scream of “You know how I need you to beat to a pulp on a Saturday night” from ‘Don’t Leave Me Now’.
Can you do that? Are you that missing voice? If you are, this is your chance. This is an open invitation to audition for Harry’s band. I’m serious.
As a final call to action, the post invites interested voices to “visit HarryWaters.com now for more information and to submit your audition.”
No official dates for the imminent tour have been revealed. Audition tapes will be accepted through April 30, 2026. The band will feature Harry Waters on keyboards and organ, Graham Broad on drums, and others.
