Relix Live Fridays Focuses on the Grateful Dead’s _Sunshine Daydream_

September 20, 2013

On August 27, 1972, the Grateful Dead performed at the Olde Renaissance Fairgrounds in Veneta, OR. The show, which was a reunion with Ken Kesey, Ken Babbs and the Merry Pranksters, served as a benefit concert for the Kesey family’s Springfield Creamery (tickets were printed on the front of Springfield Creamery yogurt labels). The film that captured this performance, Sunshine Daydream, was an underground fan-favorite for many years and finally has been released. Today as our Relix Live Fridays series resumes we share the “China” > “Rider” from the show, one of many highlights. To learn more about the film and for all sorts of bonus content, stop by the official Sunshine Daydream page at Dead.net
