The Disco Biscuits have officially unveiled the phase two artist lineup for the second annual BISCOLAND music festival. Returning to Wonderland Forest in LaFayette, N.Y. on July 4-6, this year’s expanded presentation boasts a new total of 25 premiere acts from the worlds of jam, electronica, and the hazy spaces in between, guaranteeing the ideal Independence Day getaway for fans in the Empire State. Today’s dispatch adds six new performers to the mix, led by Mark Farina, who joins previously announced headliners Lettuce, TractorBeam, Nora En Pure, and The Disco Biscuits, who will present four–or five–sets through the course of the weekend.
The latest cohort of artists to join the celebration finds a champion in Farina, who is firmly established as a legend of Chicago and San Francisco’s house scenes after nearly four decades of pioneering his trademark “mushroom jazz” style. High-voltage sample-heavy jam-funk outfit Dizgo is getting in on the fun, too, as is Derek “Cloudchord” VanScoten, the electronic producer and multi-instrumentalist who recently made headlines for his part in Revolution in Motion, continuing a longstanding collaboration with the Biscuits.
Other new entries are Horizon Wireless, Souleye, and Cofresi, who will present a special late-night set. The phase two announcement expands on the evening schedule, additionally slating Break Science and DJ Minx for late-night shifts, while Nora En Pure, Late Night Radio and Squeaky Feet will share special sunset sets. To familiarize themselves with the lineup, fans can tune to the BISCOLAND 2024 Spotify playlist.
Elsewhere, longtime followers of The Disco Biscuits will be thrilled to note the return of TRACTORBEAM, the band’s rarely-encountered alter ego act. While this Bisco shadow has seen a number of iterations and themes throughout The Disco Biscuits’ prolific career, it can be distinguished by the band’s matching tracksuits and the content of their performances, which have recently featured syncopated live instrumental renditions of iconic dance selects in the style of a DJ set. TRACTORBEAM recently made a bust-out appearance at Boulder, Colo.’s Fox Theatre, marking its first engagement in five years.
On the festival’s return, The Disco Biscuits’ bassist Marc Brownstein has shared, “Last year’s inaugural BISCOLAND was so incredibly special to us and our community, and we’re so excited to return to Wonderland Forest this year to do it all again, bigger and better!”
